Description
Base for 140-200 beds
A strong and reliable base consists of a metal frame and narrow 58 mm birch slats. Designed to improve the anatomical properties of the mattress and its service life. This model is designed for all types of mattresses. The increased number of slats on the bed, up to 28 pieces, allows you to significantly improve the anatomical properties of the bed base. The slats are inserted into special plastic holders. Thanks to this, the base adapts as accurately as possible to the position of the body of the lying person.
The base is supplied unassembled. It can be used both with legs and without them, that is, with any beds.
What properties do slats have?
They allow the mattress to “breathe”, that is, they allow air to pass through and quickly evaporate moisture. Also, mattresses with slats collect dust much less.
Thus, the advantage of a slatted bed base is hygiene. If the mattress is orthopedic, then the slats enhance its properties.
What is better – slats or plywood for a bed?
3 main factors that prove that beds are better than plywood:
- The quality of the raw materials selected for the slats is several times higher than for plywood. The slats can withstand more weight and provide a more reliable support for the mattress.
- It is possible to choose a bed with different slats: narrow, wide.
- For a classic double bed, 20 to 30 pieces are needed, for a classic single bed, 13 to 16 pieces are needed.
How often do you need to change the slats? / Base for a 140-200 bed
The service life can vary significantly, but in most cases it ranges from 7 to 10 years. If this mechanism fails early, it means that it is of poor quality.
Accordingly, if the slats are not replaced for more than 10 years, they will wear out and lose their original properties.
How much weight can a bed hold? How do slats work?
Beech slats are considered the most wear-resistant and durable – each of them can withstand a load of up to 40 kg.
Note that this is the maximum pressure, in general, a bed with such a base can withstand up to 120 kg per bed.
What kind of mattress is needed for a bed? / Base for a bed of 140-200
The width of the slats should exceed the diameter of one spring of the mattress block. The distance between the slats should be less than the diameter of the spring of the block. This rule applies to mattress models with an independent spring block. Slats can be 3-4 cm wide and are considered narrow, or they can have a width of 5-9 cm.
